Decision Making

Decision making has the ability to make you step out of yourself, doesn’t it? There has been many times in my life I have had to come to a fork in the road. I believe everyone does whether it be a large decision or a small one. A decision is a decision but how you go about it where the beauty lies.

Be sure to write it down. I don’t know about you but with life moving so quickly it can be very easy to get distracted, would you agree? I do not go a day without journaling. Journaling can be a very relaxing and a free place to place the thoughts your having throughout the day. Because we’re humans we have the ability to have millions of thoughts running through our minds and this is on a daily basis.  As a mother of small toddlers, a wife, an entrepreneur I’m sure to journal daily because as you can imagine many things can come up within the day! Sometimes when we take things from our minds and transfer them on to the paper it can become so much clearer. When things are on paper we can come up with ways to handle them better.

Make the decision your own. This is something that I had the biggest struggle with in my past. Everyone has advice to give today and this can make it very hard to hear our own voices. Don’t get me wrong there are many out there that will be heaven sent but on the other hand think. One of this biggest aha moments for me was when learning that listening to everyone else’s advice without considering my own is the quickest way to  the most unfulfilled and miserable life ever thought of!

Be stronger than you’ve been. I know that sometimes that this may be harder than it seems. The human body has the power to do anything we tell it to do! Sometimes, when we don’t know exactly what happens in the future it can be a terrifying thing to think of but one of the realist things that I have come to learn is that everything we want is on the other side of fear.

Rid yourself of regret. I know this seems a little bold but just think about it for a minute.  From the day we were born up until now, we are a product of our repetitive decisions. The person that you are should never be apologized for,  be filled with shame or regret because everyone has a purpose and your growing into yours.

With love,

Candace Kinlaw
